Key takeaways
- Meesho accepts only .JPEG images in the RGB colour space. PNG, WebP and CMYK files are refused.
- The primary image must show the whole product alone, with no text, watermark, price, logo or props.
- Blurry, pixelated, stretched, inverted or cluttered images are rejected at QC.
- Image links in the bulk sheet must be working links. Meesho says Google Drive links are not accepted.
Meesho's image guidelines decide whether your product photos pass quality check (QC): images must be RGB JPEG files that show the whole product alone, with no text, watermark, price, logo or props, and they must not be blurry, pixelated or stretched. Image problems are a common reason Meesho rejects a listing, and one bad image holds back the product it belongs to. This checklist puts Meesho's own image guidelines in one place, in the order you should check them.
1. File format: JPEG in RGB, nothing else
Meesho's guidelines say it plainly: only .JPEG images are accepted, and only in the RGB colour space. Images in CMYK or any other colour space are not accepted.
- Export from your phone or editor as JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg), not PNG, WebP or HEIC.
- If a designer sends print-ready files, ask for RGB. Print files are often CMYK.
- Do not rename a .png file to .jpg. The file content stays PNG and can still fail.
2. Images that Meesho rejects
Meesho lists these as reasons an image will be rejected:
- Graphic, inverted or pixelated images.
- Text or a watermark on the primary image.
- Blurry or cluttered images.
- A price or a brand logo on the image.
- A product that has been shrunk, elongated or stretched.
- Only part of the product in the frame.
- Offensive or objectionable images or products.
3. The image standard: one product, nothing around it
The standard Meesho asks for is a solo product image without any props, and no text on the product image. For the first image, a plain white or very light background with the full product centred is the safest choice.
Primary image vs. other images
The text and watermark rule is written for primary images. Your other images can show the product in use or its size, but keep them clean: the rules on blur, clutter, stretching and offensive content apply to every image.
4. Size and sharpness
Pixelated images are rejected, so start from a photo that is large enough. Meesho does not publish a pixel size in these guidelines; our recommendation is a square image of about 1000 × 1000 pixels, which gives a sharp listing image. If your photo is not square, add plain background on the short sides to make it square. Never stretch it, because stretched products are rejected.
5. Image links in the bulk upload sheet
When you upload in bulk, each image goes into the sheet as a link in the Image 1 (Front) to Image 4 columns. The template tells you to create these links with the Images Bulk Upload or Image link Generator option on the supplier panel, and says Google Drive links will not be accepted. Whatever you use, the link must open the image directly and must be mapped to the right product row.
