Meesho Catalog Rejected? Fix QC Errors Step by Step

Why Meesho rejects catalogs and how to fix them: read the Error Status and Error Message columns, correct dropdowns, prices and image links, and re-upload.

Key takeaways

  • Meesho writes why a row failed into the Error Status and Error Message columns of the sheet.
  • The usual causes are empty compulsory fields, dropdown values that do not match exactly, wrong price order and bad image links.
  • Fix the cells in the same sheet and re-upload only after every row is clean.

When Meesho rejects a catalog, the reason is written into the sheet itself: the first two columns of every Meesho template, Error Status and Error Message, are reserved for Meesho, and each failed row gets its error there. To fix a rejected catalog, read those two columns row by row, correct the cells they point to (usually empty compulsory fields, dropdown values that do not match, prices in the wrong order or bad image links) and re-upload the same sheet once every row is clean.

Step 1: Read the error columns row by row

Sort or filter the sheet on Error Status to see only the failed rows. Read the Error Message for each one and note which column it points to. Do not edit the two error columns yourself.

Step 2: Fix the common causes

Empty compulsory fields

Any blank compulsory cell rejects the row. Check the top row for "* Compulsory Field" and fill every one.

Dropdown values that don't match

Dropdown columns accept only values from the Validation Sheet. "blue", "Blue " (with a space) and "BLUE" are not the same as "Blue". Copy the exact value from the Validation Sheet or pick it from the cell's dropdown.

Prices in the wrong order

Both prices must be lower than MRP, and the Wrong/Defective Returns Price must be lower than the Meesho Price. Prices must be plain numbers in INR: "₹1,299" or "1299/-" should be entered as 1299.

Pincodes and numbers

Pincodes are six digits with no spaces (560034, not 560 034). Weight is in grams. Quantities are whole numbers.

Image links

A link that does not open, a Google Drive link, or an image on the wrong row fails QC. Images themselves must also follow Meesho's image guidelines.

Text problems

Meesho asks for content without spelling mistakes and without restricted keywords such as other portal names or smoking. Keep weight, size and price out of the product name.

Step 3: Re-check before re-uploading

  1. Every failed row is fixed, not only the first few.
  2. SKU IDs are still unique across all rows.
  3. Fixes did not break the price order on other rows.
  4. Upload the corrected sheet from the supplier panel.

Fixing many rows faster

When a sheet has hundreds of rows, most fixes are mechanical: letter case in dropdowns, currency symbols in prices, spaces in pincodes. Those can be fixed automatically. Others, such as a material that is not in the list at all, need your decision.

Frequently asked questions

Why was my Meesho catalog rejected?

The reason is written in the Error Status and Error Message columns of the sheet. Common causes are empty compulsory fields, dropdown values that do not match, wrong price order and broken image links.

Can I edit the Error Status column?

No. The template says those two columns are for Meesho only. Fix the cells the message points to instead.
