Key takeaways

  • Every Meesho listing has three prices: Meesho Price, Wrong/Defective Returns Price and MRP.
  • The order is fixed: Returns Price < Meesho Price < MRP.
  • Buyers at the Meesho Price can return for any listed reason; buyers at the returns price only for wrong or defective items.
  • The template's own formula suggests a returns price ₹15 below the Meesho Price.

Every Meesho listing has three prices: the Meesho Price (your normal selling price), a lower Wrong/Defective Returns Price, and the MRP. They must follow a fixed order, Returns Price < Meesho Price < MRP, or the row is rejected. The gap between the two selling prices also decides what buyers can return: at the Meesho Price they can return for any listed reason, at the returns price only for wrong or defective items.

The three prices

PriceWhat it means
Meesho PriceYour normal price. Buyers at this price can return for all reasons.
Wrong/Defective Returns PriceA lower price. Buyers at this price can only return wrong or defective items.
MRPMaximum Retail Price, including taxes. No one may sell above it. INR only.

The price order rule

Meesho's template says both the Meesho Price and the Wrong/Defective Returns Price must be less than MRP, and the returns price must be lower than the Meesho Price. In short: Returns Price < Meesho Price < MRP. A row that breaks this is rejected.

How much lower should the returns price be?

The template recommends entering ₹15 less than the Meesho Price, based on savings in reverse shipping and handling. Its own example formula fills the returns price as Meesho Price minus 15 when the Meesho Price is above 15.

Setting MRP correctly

For pre-packed products, MRP is on the packaging label. For products without a label, give the highest price the product may be sold at, including taxes. Keep MRP realistic: it has to be above both selling prices.
